The seminar ran from 1pm-5.30pm and it was interesting and informative. Adam spoke about ‘attitude’ and successful thinking as professional photographers, amongst other items on his agenda. He was informative, amusing and confident, you could see why he is so successful in what he does.

Louis gave us a demonstartion of how to use flash, sadly, he was a Nikon user! However, despite that, I found that I learnt quite a lot about how to approach flash in that one hour than I have done in any other seminar. Louis also talked about attitude towards flash and how to use it more creatively, rather than just to leave it on your camera.

The seminar also gave us an update about Graphistudio products.  There is quite a lot of good stuff happening at Graphi so I will stick with them as I have done for the last 3 years or so. I’m keen to use their new software that is due to be released in May/June this year.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’m going to practice using my radio triggers!

I met Mickey, Goofy and Pluto at breakfast in New York Hotel where I stayed. I saw Snow-White, Alice and Winnie, did I queue you for an hour to get an autograph for my kids, hell, no. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for living the dream but then there’s the harsh reality of queuing till you drop. I snapped away at the characters with other children, my kids will never know the difference with a little help from Photoshop.

I did go to watch a live motor show and Lightening McQueen graced us with his (?) presence. Now I have to say, if anything the whole trip was worth that stunt show, it was awesome. Serious effort had been made to make it look realsitic – when the man was on fire, my kids almost screamed in fear. They chanted, again, again. Thrill seekers or slightly veering towards sadistic, I don’t really know.

It’s a whole little €€€ world out there in Paris, I was a little girl again, skipping to the constant blaring music and nodding happily, stupidly at all the characters in the Parade. Am I being a little harsh, a little cynical? Maybe. Will everyone live happily ever after? Not with that exchange rate.

I woke up at 2am this morning for my Sehri (morning meal) and asked myself, hmm..am I hungry? The answer is no, so I drank a glass of water, read my prayer and went to sleep.
